Blank Canvas.

So at the start for all of us there was define a lack of communication for all us, I think for me , I haven't work with the dfsa before so I thought I must try to see what will the experience will be for me

I think during the per-production we knew we were doing such an brave, and there was so much work to have been done in those period, I think that was one of thing that I really enjoys was trying really had to make this a unique dance video. I thought since most of us haven't work us, we were being too safe i our options and we didn't wanted to get anyone upset, this could be the reason as to why it was so slow, means there was a lot of catching up to do that we had to do.

I also wanted do the choreography of the piece and that something that I was looking forward to, after a while I then change my role as a Assistant director, this was really short notice since we kept changing our role so many times, as a assistant director I wasn't confident enough to officially do my role pro pally, I felt in some case I let the team down since we was constantly behind and that was my fault taken, I have tried to take some knowledge of assistance directing but honestly I felt like it was too much of a bigger role for me to take in such a small amount of time, if I had a longer time then I would take this much differently.

I enjoyed working with Kiruna our dancer she was understands and listen, and she know what she is doing, I think we needed more rehearsals, i thought when we practices she was doing fine however when actually filmed , there was some few step she missed and so I felt she wasn't herself when filming the breathe studio. however when we filmed in the Student union she felt more her self n stage since she was comfortable to do her moves. Overall I found working with her a great experience.

This was an eye opener for me, a stressful experience next I need to be more confident in what I'm doing and make sure that I'm engage fully with the role, and not be be afraid to take risk and to say no, in any situations, I think if you some up one think I learn and that is confidence and that is something that I'm learning to do.

So for my I used the glitch techniques by using after effects I look at tutorial instead of going with the water color ideas I thought I should use imagery and photos of the past to convey memory and the glitch effect  show the idea of vivid memory or trigger of a memory.Here is a screen shot of all the editing techniques that I uses, layer masking and ticking effect on the composition

 Evaluation
So this project I explore much on using after effects, this was very sentimental for mer, and really personal since this is about my family , I think for future I would like to explore the animation, and I was really inspire by the gallery. Doing the process of doing the video was pretty stress in terms of getting the techniques right and make sure, I had got stuck with the field and frame I wanted to do lots of things however not enough time to do so. I thought this inspire me to get back into art this manifested something in me to get back into painting and actually try and do stop motion and see what type of work I could make out of it. I think going to the gallery was a really inspiring I thought that really help me get lots of ideas, and using digital media for art. I also learn in using the thing I learn to bring something out of it, this was the first time I actually did something that was personal, I usually try to avoid or block it of, for personal reason I thought that this help me as a person, to be really ambitious of my work, in my next project, and to step out my confront shell to really try techniques and experiment in different techniques. Overall it nor excally what I wanted and I think this could work more into it.

Day 1 of 5
 Croosbury Common
So the first day of the Shoot there so many problems  from the start, it all start when we all met to Klara house at 9:00 sharp, before we can even get to the location, it has already rained and poor with rain , however we have limited time with the glide cam so we just had to get on with the job. I was making sure that the dancer was nice and dry, with the umbrella, we were running behind schedule since we did two trip to get to the location. It was such as long day, I think we should of been more prepare for cold weather, most of our hand got really numb after we done the shoot.

 Breathe Studio
So we filmed in the breathe studio, we had a little dilemma  at the start we the manger we had to film in a different day, and there was a bit of confusion, however with a lot of persuasion we manage to still be able to film from 2-5pm, we had limit time to shoot so it was crucial that the team was able to finish doing the shot, we were slow in the beginning  I had to make sure that we were not behind, I tried to keep time, them on board and make sure that we weren't following behind, I also had to recap the dancer the moves that we did from the rehearsals so that she is aware from which moves is correct.

 Student Union 
So I made a call sheet and  before hand schedule to make sure that we know what we were doing before hand. me and Klara had to find ways of trapping the light through, this took time, we eventually got from help form Hannah the art technician to gives us black sheet of paper, we then use some duck tape to tape around the sheet of board, we help each other out to tape this together, once we have done, we then had to went straight into shooting cause we was 2 hours behind, however it didn't take us long to find out more issue came into the picture, the person we paid Owen wasn't able to control most to the lights and we find out, that he wasn't trained well enough to do the lights, this took time as well, however once we got the issue sorted we was ready to shoot, I made my queue to make sure the dancer know exactly what she is doing the the shoot.

I did the call sheets, So this was filmed in Amy House we have the equipment soy in her house, I made sure the dancer was aware and the time allocated for her, once again we was following behind schedule since there was some issue with the shot list in the beginning we didn't look at the location beforehand so we had to change the shots the was accommodated to her,

We did the additional shot that we mange to do in the previous

So during the Easter break we had to find another dancer because the dancer Malfada couldn't be able to continue to take part again because of too much work to be honest she missed about three rehearsals with me during that period from then that when I realized that she wouldn't be able to do, so me and the rest of the team try and find a dancer in a short space of time, we then tried and agree to meet up with her in the breather studio, this was my opportunity in such as short period of time to start everything again however with a different dancer, I met with her and we discussed and went straight on to choreography while Andre and Klara talked about the different shots that she can do.






Rehearsal
So I thought I should give the dancer a final rehearsal before we had to officially shoot on 8th of April, this give the dancer to prepare herself, I wanted to give her some tips and thought I also made sure the Andre was happy with the routine and if there was much improvement needed to be done.

I also research on stop motion animation cause of my background I have done a lot of fine art, I wanted to see weather I look at animation cause, to show memory in animation, idea of using stop motion of painting like in every frame, I like that particular techniques because it shows set images.




 Again I kept look on things that I could be inspire to then came across college in my work, difference set of prints. Cause I think when you look at collage finding way of showing memory in using mixed media Showing the idea of





 So I decided to collect all the old and new imagery past and photos my family have took and see what I could do with them.And then I research further of the glitch effect this whole idea, the reason for this was because I want to show glitch as a trigger of memory or long term memory that was from the past when someone tell you about it  you have suddenly remember in your head, but vividly not clear. used distort features like waves, to create that jolt effect. I also try to attempt this very same technique on aftereffect, import my image into the aftereffect, then in order to do the distorted images, I used a stork footage then in imported into the layer into the imagery.





Test run.


I did like a test run with the same imagery, to see if it could work, and see and the effect term out create I thought I could use this same techniques for all of my photos just to see, how this would term out to be.
