Final video



So for my I used the glitch techniques by using after effects I look at tutorial instead of going with the water color ideas I thought I should use imagery and photos of the past to convey memory and the glitch effect  show the idea of vivid memory or trigger of a memory.Here is a screen shot of all the editing techniques that I uses, layer masking and ticking effect on the composition

 Evaluation
So this project I explore much on using after effects, this was very sentimental for mer, and really personal since this is about my family , I think for future I would like to explore the animation, and I was really inspire by the gallery. Doing the process of doing the video was pretty stress in terms of getting the techniques right and make sure, I had got stuck with the field and frame I wanted to do lots of things however not enough time to do so. I thought this inspire me to get back into art this manifested something in me to get back into painting and actually try and do stop motion and see what type of work I could make out of it. I think going to the gallery was a really inspiring I thought that really help me get lots of ideas, and using digital media for art. I also learn in using the thing I learn to bring something out of it, this was the first time I actually did something that was personal, I usually try to avoid or block it of, for personal reason I thought that this help me as a person, to be really ambitious of my work, in my next project, and to step out my confront shell to really try techniques and experiment in different techniques. Overall it nor excally what I wanted and I think this could work more into it.

I also research on stop motion animation cause of my background I have done a lot of fine art, I wanted to see weather I look at animation cause, to show memory in animation, idea of using stop motion of painting like in every frame, I like that particular techniques because it shows set images.




 Again I kept look on things that I could be inspire to then came across college in my work, difference set of prints. Cause I think when you look at collage finding way of showing memory in using mixed media Showing the idea of





 So I decided to collect all the old and new imagery past and photos my family have took and see what I could do with them.And then I research further of the glitch effect this whole idea, the reason for this was because I want to show glitch as a trigger of memory or long term memory that was from the past when someone tell you about it  you have suddenly remember in your head, but vividly not clear. used distort features like waves, to create that jolt effect. I also try to attempt this very same technique on aftereffect, import my image into the aftereffect, then in order to do the distorted images, I used a stork footage then in imported into the layer into the imagery.





Test run.


I did like a test run with the same imagery, to see if it could work, and see and the effect term out create I thought I could use this same techniques for all of my photos just to see, how this would term out to be.

Abraham Cruzvillegas: Empty Lot

Gallery Trip on 17th of February ,we went to the field trip with the DFSA pupils, this was a great experience to be in as we are able to get inspired by different artist that used different mix-media,  and incorporating different style technique.

Tate Modern
We first went to the Tate Modern Gallery , the first thing we saw was  a  piece called Empty Lot by Abraham Cruzvillegas this which was a triangle platform created with wooden plants, the planes are lit and regularly water however no seed have been planted it a project to see what might or might not happen.


I thought we should start at the top at level 4 the topic of the exhibition was called media network it the looking work that is portrayed in the media and the modernist artwork and medium they use.

Endless Rhythum, Robert Delaunay

This painting is called Endless Rhythm by Robert Delaunay this a painting of that portrays colour as rhythm, i like the way the slit in-between the two colours that made in the middle, the colours are ordered in a sequence also the shape of the semi circle are done is piece, neatly, this there is also few colours that is chosen, black,white,green, and red and orange. The piece is very minimalist there is nothing that is over powering.

So I research on the idea of memory and whats ist definitation and its meaning behind the terminiology

Memory is the process in which information is encoded, stored, and retrieved. Encoding allows information from the outside world to be sensed in the form of chemical and physical stimuli. In the first stage the information must be changed so that it may be put into the encoding process. Storage is the second memory stage or process


Memory Loss

I had an idea to show using mix collage video the idea of memory loss, a memory that is disappearing and slowly fading away from you. I thought about the time where I didn't remember anything from when I moves in to the UK, my memory from my childhood is now loss.

Amnesia
Characterized by memories impairment as a result of a traumatic events, losing the ability to remember information, the memories loss goes over the years.


I wanted to use mix media style work such as video collage to create a narrative based upon the idea of memory loss, or something that you can't remember, or have no memories of, I thought that the idea use of using home video to represent a memory and use digital Dlsr or modern film camera to represent the present.

I then had an idea to us audio of when I was 4 years of age to cause I don't really remember that much of those year. When I moves to England I was really fluent in speaking my language and then as I got used to the English culture even for a young age, forgot, I don't really remember the time when I was in Tanzania in such an age. Like we would be sitting looking at footage tape, my mum could remember previous friend I had, but for me I just could remember, it was just another girl. 
I wanted to used an audio tape that was a audio of me and my family talking in a my mother tough called Swahili, listern to the tape made me nostalgic, it funny cause I couldn't remember this day taking place, to me listern to this tape just sound like a little  girl just talking to me really.
So my dad sent me the tape to me and I looked through them an see what I would do with this tapes.

I was also looking for ideas and inspiration and I came across this video showing different motion techniques. something that I can get inspired to this was an advert by Giorgio Antoni having two screen to show to perspectives.

I tried to make an attempt in this techniques using aftereffect, so drawing on each frame so, I got a footage of me when it was really foggy day, and took some picture with it, and then using the drawing tool made it as a single frame, drawn of each shot.



Also looked a video collage, using two shot to create and make effect, just looked at different editing techniques to me inspire upon and just to have a different set of video, when people explain a memory having two different shot to tell them by.

This video and collages  was inspired video that is emerging together this really cool photography and video piece is something that I was looked to do in terms of techniques. Manipulated and emerging different images together. 

This lesson I have learn of making narrative however using interface technologies to the audience to participate instead of the begging passive audience, this challenge traditional,




This is just on example that use interactivity, the website that use a software that using their software, that have the capability for audience to choose what they would like to see, this change the idea of having director ideas or import and having the audience choice instead of the director, so in this particular video it is a Coleplay music video, like the image above, it is a way of choosing what path to take, instead of the director path way, this give the audience a chance to give to have their own opinion, have their freewill, totally down to there interpretation, this means that it create a much better, playful environment for users to us.
