Blank Canvas.

I made some drawing of how I want the layout of the room to look like in the installation, this will be set up with three TV's in a row, and there will be a short films in a row, them they will be some head set for people to listen on set.


I also did some storyboard to visualise how this will turn out to be. This will be a collections of found imagery of the work, they will also be video footage as well. This is just visually what I what this to make it with subtitle at the bottom of the page.

I look at some editing techniques looking at different here is some examples that I have researched, that helped me understand the types of editing I would want. I looked at the famous montage by Sergi from the Battle Potekin.

I looked at some research of montage and how to make it effective when making a film, and this can give different meaning for the audience. I would like to use different set of images and video that still create meaning an blend well with the sound. Looked at a lot of films like man in the movie camera, the style of video I like are films that have natural cutting scenes, poetic and simple with soft colours.

The film through is going to be a collection og found imagery and video montage, this will then be exploring with the context of losing your language and being separated to someone that you use to be, it about encountering to your old self and acknowledgement with the identity that people have now. For my audience I want this to be a self reflective video, that people can related to their own cultural difference. This is also about culturals acceptance and choosing to accept you identity and having more connection with your language.This also is exploring african tales and heritage that you don't usually see in the feel of film, this also to educated people, who don't really know about african heritage.

Research I made a bibliography of all the things that I did for my individual project, i think I have done some research and most of them are relevant, however I think I should research more on my visual ascpt. Here is the link

Since my project has changed, I have made another poem that is completely different to the other poem I wrote in last october, this poem talk about the disconnection and the separation between two different culture, and the identity that you belong, this is about reflection between where you belong in this world this a poem that will also finalise everything for the two films I would like to show for the Installation piece. I decided to do some research in the to develop and expand my idea, I watching Girl on the train as it has a similar idea to mine, the films is about a woman called Rachel who always watches a perfect couple while she is in a journey in the train, however in reality Megan is unhappy with her life  and wants to start her life over, however news reported her missing, girl on the train had a much more complicated plot when watching the film, the plot and narrative of the film help me a lot in visual and the character them. This film was adapted to a book and it was interesting in which the film has been, it does a great job, making a character that shows mental illness and to put that into perspective, and we sympathies with rachel as she goes through her day to day lives drunk, the monologues in the beginning of the film, implies to what she think a perfect couples be as she watch the two couples on the balcony, and her thought of when she used to have this life, as she reminisce to something she doesn't have. However this is only Rachel thought, and perspective as the film get the instinct to the who rachel watches everyday which is megan, you start to realise that is was false representation and even for megan she doesn't feel satisfied with her life, and she explains through her monologue her disatifaction of her life and what she portrayed to be.

This film definitely gave me clarity as to what I want my short film to be about, I definitely want to play around in the idea of false thought that a character thinks, making false actuzation on something which isn't true and implying the idea of deception and liars that you tell yourself.leading the audience one way however making the audience lead the other way, I think the subject I am covering is very complicated, and i need to make sure.
