Blank Canvas.

I looked for casting rooms, for auditions we might do in the 22nd of November. I would look for cheap deals for us to do an Audtion.

I decided to do some research in the to develop and expand my idea, I watching Girl on the train as it has a similar idea to mine, the films is about a woman called Rachel who always watches a perfect couple while she is in a journey in the train, however in reality Megan is unhappy with her life  and wants to start her life over, however news reported her missing, girl on the train had a much more complicated plot when watching the film, the plot and narrative of the film help me a lot in visual and the character them. This film was adapted to a book and it was interesting in which the film has been, it does a great job, making a character that shows mental illness and to put that into perspective, and we sympathies with rachel as she goes through her day to day lives drunk, the monologues in the beginning of the film, implies to what she think a perfect couples be as she watch the two couples on the balcony, and her thought of when she used to have this life, as she reminisce to something she doesn't have. However this is only Rachel thought, and perspective as the film get the instinct to the who rachel watches everyday which is megan, you start to realise that is was false representation and even for megan she doesn't feel satisfied with her life, and she explains through her monologue her disatifaction of her life and what she portrayed to be.

This film definitely gave me clarity as to what I want my short film to be about, I definitely want to play around in the idea of false thought that a character thinks, making false actuzation on something which isn't true and implying the idea of deception and liars that you tell yourself.leading the audience one way however making the audience lead the other way, I think the subject I am covering is very complicated, and i need to make sure.

So I thought that I used look into deeper context in Gone girl and the relationship between Amy and Nick gone girl, who faked her own death just so that her husband would get in the pain that he desired for cheating with her, she used ignorant mum as a way of them feeling sorry for the horrible husband that she had, pretend that her has money problem by making fake credit card account and buying cheap car deal to make her feel worthless. However her ended up chancing her mind when she looked a interview of Nick saying ' I not the murder but I am a horrible man' which then lead her running back to Nick.



The meaning of this film- What amy goals was Nick to always be an 'appear' to be a good husband though the eyes of others and the perception of what others people have off them.  Even though really their marriage is falling apart. Sometime perception of what is appears to look like people will automatically judge based upon what is appears to look like however isn't necessary the truth of what they are really going through.

Initial Idea

For my idea I would like to challenge the idea of perception though the similar to the idea of like gone girl. And in order to challenge the perception is by the notion of Romance.
So the main message that it may appears to be looking at thought is fine, however once you enter into the relationship you realise a much more deeper and much more complicated.

This film will be presented in a monologue, and the main character will talk about her past event she reassured herself. So the main character who is called Mariam who is obsessed over the newly neighbours that just so happen to made new friend to make a new friend next to his. She could  been doing everyday activity,either come home from work or getting the groceries or if she so happen to find them while she is walking on by the stores and the development of their relationship. Only to find out that it something went wrong with the whole matter.

The main character is an observer that only observed them from far you don't necessary what happening but only from her thought and her perspective and see what is appears in front of you. So the monologue is really important cause, main character and the audience are in the same boat as each other. The audience and the main character is curious as to what has happen.

The Irrational fear of Nothing

I look at as many examples that show the idea of voiceover and monologue in a different way, this is an short film with a simple narrative. This has been expressed differently by the use of everyday activity and the constant thought he thinks about thought this day. This sense of voice over show that use and idea of fear of judgment by others, it gives the viewer, a recognition that everybody relate to and understand, which they cleverly done by the use of the camera movement, making the camera behind  him as we literally move to his own world of thinking.

Voice in the Cinema

I read some book that Kathleen recommended to me to get myself some  about the original, and how I want my film to look authentic, to drive the  action forward, it funny to know this also mention about Physo, this was very helpful for me to explore the historical aspect and the way in which  voiceover have been used in film. And the way in which is been has controlling sound and voice in the dialogue.

Essay in Love

Also research on the use of Narrative in Literature get inspired by the use of language that has been used in the story, this is not partially a place in which I fond off however I though it a great start when it come to the story and narrative aspect of the film, this will help me understand the linguistic and the development from start to finish. The essay was really good in term of getting the reader to be glued to the story, there wasn't one moments where I thought wasn't interesting, I like the idea that the narrative was talking in first person. I made some notes on which that caught my attention to in this essay and highlighted key points.
